Produce your own clean electricity ... With guaranteed income and cost savings When you install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels you are harnessing the free and natural energy of the sun. You will produce clean and sustainable energy and at the same time reduce your CO2 emissions. You will directly fulfil much of your own demand by substituting the electricity you would normally consume from the National Grid. And when you are producing more power than you need, you will export it to the Grid. Create an income and save every year with your PV installation. The Government have now brought in Feed In Tariffs (FIT). This important initiative now means that a typical PV system will give you £900 – £1000 per year in direct income and savings on your electricity bill. In reality you benefit in three ways: - You are a paid a tax-free tariff to produce electricity whether or not you use it yourself;
- You save on the electricity you would have purchased from the National Grid. This will help insulate you from the projected huge rises in domestic electricity costs;
- Your electricity supplier pays you an additional amount for each unit of power you export to the National Grid.
See how the scheme works in detail and how much you will be paid from our page on FITs and the economics of PV. And if you want to check out government announcements on FITs, click here. Important Note – You can only take advantage of the Feed In Tariff and receive the payments if your PV system is fitted by a fully accredited installer under the Government's Microgeneration Certification Scheme. We have industry-trained specialists available to answer all of your questions. In the UK our government has been slow to bring in financial support for renewables. So far we generate 1.3% of our energy from renewables, one of the lower percentages in Europe. The Government has committed the UK to raise this to 15% by 2020. This is why they have introduced these generous tariffs for energy generators. Be part of this new movement to generate your own power, benefitting yourself and the country! © Soltrac 2010 |
